Anchored in the Storm
Scripture Reading
Psalm 46:1-3 — “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.”
Reflection
Storms rarely announce themselves. A difficult diagnosis, an unexpected bill, or a season of loneliness can arrive uninvited and shake what once felt solid. The psalmist does not pretend the storm is not real; he simply names where his safety lies. God is not watching your trouble from a safe distance — He is a very present help, near and already at work. Whatever is shaking around you today, let this truth steady you: the refuge you need is not a place but a Person. Bring your fear to Him honestly, then rest in the quiet certainty that He has not let go of you.
